NEWPORT NEWS, VA - This past weekend, Delegate Mike Mullin was awarded as a "Champion of Justice" by the Virginia Association of Commonwealth Attorneys at their annual conference in Virginia Beach.
“I’m incredibly honored to be recognized by my fellow prosecutors for my work in the General Assembly this past year," said Delegate Mullin. "Standing up for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault is what I'm most proud of as Delegate, and I'm glad my peers at VACA agree.”
“We recognize members of the General Assembly who consistently advocate positions promoting public safety,” said VACA Legislative Committee Chair, Michael Doucette. "We were very excited to present Delegate Mullin with this award."
Delegate Mullin's bill to close a loophole in domestic violence cases was signed into law by Governor McAuliffe back in April and went into effect this July.
