Major Economic Development Announcement in Newport News
Over 1,000 jobs have been preserved and over 500 created in Newport News as a result of Ferguson Enterprises choosing this area to build their new IT facility. I was proud to witness this moment as Governor McAuliffe presented the city with this check!

The Governor signed a bill I co-patroned to make criminal cases a bit easier to prove.
Habitat for Humanity Groundbreaking
I was honored to be among community leaders and six wonderful families who will be participating in Habitat's 2017 Homebuilding Blitz. Breaking ground with these incredible people was a touching experience and a shining example of promoting affordable housing for all.
Four of my bills will officially go into effect as new laws on July 1, 2017. Click here to take a look at other laws passed in Virginia this year.

From School to Summer
Summer is now officially here, and I'm so excited to spend it with my friends and family! I hope you will be able to enjoy some time off as well. Though most school years have already come to a close, I was privileged to spend some time in classrooms throughout the community these past few weeks. Participating in Mayor Price's Book Club program in Newport News, I read "What Will I Do If I Can't Tie My Shoe" to a fun and welcoming group of Lee Hall Elementary schoolers. At Matoaka Elementary School, I fielded questions from curious learners about the silliest laws on the books and my daily routine as your State Delegate. I was also honored to attend the Class of 2017's graduations from both Menchville and Woodside High Schools. Happy summer to students, parents, and teachers!
