Capitol Classic

The annual basketball game to support the VCU Massey Cancer Center! The House was victorious and reigned over the Senate's team. Proud to support this great cause!

Floor Fun

This was one of those days where the House had to wait for Senate reports before moving on with our calendar. We tried to make the most of it!

Finishing Up Our Work

We are on Day 55 here in Richmond, with our last day of the 2018 session coming up on Saturday. We are still trying to reach an agreement with the Senate as far as the budget is concerned, but most of our legislation is in its final stages. For me, I have four bills headed to the Governor's desk, and I'm pretty darn proud of that. I am on a few conference committees to help reach common ground between the House and Senate versions of particular legislation, and will be meeting with my fellow conferees this week. Things are wrapping up around here and I'm pretty excited to soon be back home with my family!

See how my legislation faired!

Bills headed to the Governor's desk:

  • HB 202 on community service for court costs
  • HB 507 on dual language requirements
  • HB 1511 on serving process
  • HB 1260 on human trafficking

Bills that got incorporated:

  • HB 4 into HB 780 on court transparency
  • HB 203 into HB 188 on sentence reduction
  • HB 506 into HB 181 on distracted driving
