This was Speaker Cox's first session as Speaker and I think he did a great job! Looking forward to working more with him, especially on the Select Committee on School Safety.

Yours,

On to Special Session

I've been back home for a week now after the 2018 Legislative Session adjourned on Saturday, March 10th. As you've probably heard by now, we adjourned without a budget as the House and Senate have yet to find common ground with how the Commonwealth's money should be allocated for the next two years. Because of this, Governor Northam has called us back to Richmond on April 11th for a Special Session to vote on the final budget. I am hopeful that Medicaid expansion will still be included, along with investment in mental health, our schools, and countless other deserving needs. We will then return on April 18th for Reconvened Session to discuss any governor amendments or vetoes.
